Job Description
The Middleware Support Analyst is primarily responsible for providing L1/L2 24×7 support in a complex and high availability external customer facing websites. Additional responsibilities include but not limited to the following.
Responsibilities:
- Alert monitoring, perform health checks, trouble-shooting issues, perform escalation, managing bridge calls, perform root cause analysis and document knowledge articles
- Support web sites (application, Middleware & infrastructure tiers) both within the organization and external at the hosting provider
- Applies middleware updates, patches, and configuration changes
- Responsible for adding, removing, or updating user account information, and resetting passwords, security and documenting the configuration of the system
- Participate in risk and security related activities
Qualifications:
- 5 years overall IT experience with at least 3 years' experience in application Middleware administration/support in technologies related to the web (Java, Tomcat, Apache, Unix etc.)
- Experience in supporting external customer facing websites
- Experience with tools like Remedy, ServiceNow, JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint, and understanding of ITIL concepts and Agile methodology
- Well-developed analytical troubleshooting and problem resolution skills, including the ability to analyze complex situations
- Excellent communication skills, inter-personal skills including strong facilitation and coordination skills
- High level of initiative and ownership mentality
Nice to have:
- Experience in some of these technologies preferred: WebLogic, App Dynamics, Active Directory, load balancer, Internet Web Caching, Web Analytics, Source control
- Understanding of the application and web security controls, TCP/IP concepts, firewalls, and database preferred
- Experience with batch scheduling
- Experience with automation tools
