About Us:
Paytm is India’s leading digital payments and financial services company, which is focused on driving consumers and merchants to its platform by offering them a variety of payment use cases. Paytm provides consumers with services like utility payments and money transfers, while empowering them to pay via Paytm Payment Instruments (PPI) like Paytm Wallet, Paytm UPI, Paytm Payments Bank Net banking, Paytm FASTag and Paytm Postpaid – Buy Now, Pay Later. To merchants, Paytm offers acquiring devices like Soundbox, EDC, QR and Payment Gateway where payment aggregation is done through PPI and also other banks’ financial instruments. To further enhance merchants’ business, Paytm offers merchants commerce services through advertising and Paytm Mini app store. Operating on this platform leverage, the company then offers credit services such as merchant loans, personal loans and BNPL, sourced by its financial partners.
About the team:
Corporate Development (Corp Dev) is the group at a corporation responsible for strategic decisions to grow and restructure its business, establish strategic partnerships, and/or achieve organizational excellence. The purpose of Corp Dev is to create opportunities for the company through actions such as mergers and acquisitions (M&A), divestitures, and deals that leverage the value of the company’s business platform
About the role:
We are currently in process of identifying individuals with strong experience in Corporate Affairs and Public policies.
Expectations/ Requirement:
1. Develop a deeper understanding of Paytm's business priorities and product portfolio, such as Financial Services, Lending, Insurance, Capital Markets, Online Gaming, eCommerce.
2. Identification of Policy & Government liaisoning needs, support required, and guidance requirements for each business.
3. Work closely with the regulatory bodies and government departments to identify issues they are trying to address, undertake research and analysis, and develop an understanding of how Paytm can help in developing solutions for those issues.
4. Interface between government departments and Paytm internal teams for developing solutions.
5. Work with Paytm internal teams across verticals to understand their concerns, which can be addressed through regulatory or government interventions.
Superpowers/ Skills that will help you succeed in this role:
1. Prior experience of working in the RBI, NPCI, Ministry of Finance or any other regulatory body will be an additional advantage.
2. Prior experience of having worked on Competition Law will be an added advantage.
3. Understand policy frameworks for relevant business areas to Paytm and its group companies.
4. Minimum 8+ years’ of relevant experience in Public Policies and Corporate Affairs.
Education-
1. LLB/ Master's degree in Public Policy / MBA from Tier 1 College highly preferred.
