ROLE SUMMARY

The Digital Manufacturing Team is responsible for the delivery of Pfizer’s Core Digital Manufacturing Operations Management (MoM) capabilities at every level of the Pfizer Global Supply (PGS) Plant Network (ISA 95 Levels 0-4). These solutions are critical to Manufacturing & Lab Execution, Manufacturing Process Intelligence and Production Optimization that aim to improve product quality, increase asset utilization/uptime, automate manual workflows, and streamline plant floor operations. The Digital Manufacturing vision is to “Simplify processes and experiences to drive PGS outcomes”.

The Manager, Solution Engineering plays a key role in delivering the future of Advanced Manufacturing Capabilities within the Digital Manufacturing Organization. The colleague will be responsible for leading a team that is creating solutions that execute, monitor and enhance the manufacturing process, while implementing cutting edge technology to augment and immerse shop floor colleagues with the insights they need to increase productivity and simplify their overall experience. You will be part of an exciting team that delivers best in industry solutions across Manufacturing.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

The Manager, Solution Engineering colleague’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Defines strategic direction for deploying, maintaining and optimizing the solution delivery architecture for the Manufacturing & Engineering Digital Plant solutions portfolio
  • Provide technical guidance to project team, by evaluating and proposing technical alternatives for resolving technology issues
  • Design and own systems deployment strategies and CI/CD Pipeline
  • Responsible for application deployment, production farm and Infrastructure platform for different product teams
  • Maintain current knowledge of all relevant deployment technologies /tools
  • Provide strategic direction and technical oversight pertaining to the implementation of new tools, technologies, solutions, and methodologies pertaining to DevOps CI/CD pipeline
  • Lead the DevOps team to operate and scale across Digital Manufacturing solution towers
  • Act as a key influencer with Pfizer’s Digital leaders to drive latest industry technological solutions as a standard within Pfizer’s Digital Ecosystem
  • Gain knowledge and educate developers on latest industry Solution Architecture technologies

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years of experience working with Digital solutions
  • Expertise in DevOps & Cloud tools:
  • Version Control (Git, Gitlab, GitHub)
  • Container Infrastructure (Docker, Kubernetes, Hosted solutions)
  • Infrastructure Automation (Chef/Puppet/Ansible, Terraform, ARM, Cloud Formation)
  • Build tools (Ant, Maven, Make, Gradle)
  • Artifact repositories (Nexus, JFrog Artifactory)
  • CI tools on-premises/cloud (Jenkins, TeamCity)
  • Monitoring, Logging and Security (CloudWatch, cloud trail, log analytics, hosted tools such as ELK, EFK, Splunk, Prometheus, OWASP, SAST, DAST)
  • Scripting languages: Python, Ant, Bash, and Shell
  • Hands-on experience in designing pipelines & pipelines as code
  • Hands-on experience in end-to-end deployment process & strategy
  • Good exposure on tools and technologies used in building a container-based infrastructure

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Digital solutions within in a BioPharma company
  • Knowledge of load balancing Highly Available/Disaster Recovery design
  • Estimating the setup time required for Infrastructure and build & release activities
  • Linux/Windows Operating System knowledge
