Deloitte is working with global customers on cloud technologies to help unlock growth, stability, and sustainability by enabling them to spot unseen business trends through curation, transformation, and blending of data. In our endeavors for continued expansion, we’re searching for like-minded individuals to help us ‘take it to the next level’.
 

In this exciting opportunity for an experienced developer, you will join a team delivering a transformative cloud hosted data platform for some of the world’s biggest organizations. The candidate we seek, needs to have a proven track record in implementing data ingestion and transformation pipelines on Microsoft Azure. Deep technical skills and experience with working on Azure Databricks. Familiarity with data modelling concepts and exposure to Synapse.
You will also be required to participate in stakeholder management, highlight risks, propose deliver plans and estimate for time and team size based on requirements. Hence, adequate levels of communication skills and relevant experience in handling such situations is desired. 

 

Scope of work

As a practitioner, in our Consulting practice, you will have the opportunity to build and nurture positive working relationships with teams and clients with the goal of exceeding client expectations. Here is an overview of your responsibilities:

•    Designing and implementing, highly performance data ingestion pipelines from multiple sources           using Spark Databricks
•    Coding data transformation rules and business logic in Azure Databricks
•    Delivering and presenting proofs of concept to of key technology components to project stakeholders.
•    Integrating the end-to-end data pipeline to take data from source systems to target data repositories ensuring the quality and consistency of data is always maintained
•    Evaluating the performance and applicability of multiple tools against customer requirements
•    Working within an Agile delivery / DevOps methodology to deliver proof of concept and production implementation in iterative sprints.
•    Assist in sprint and release planning, coordination with team to ensure delivery on time maintaining the required quality

 

Required Skills (4-10 years)

•    Proven experience in working the data engineering technologies and ADLS, ADF, Azure Databricks & Delta Lake Table, Azure SQL, Key Vault, Azure, Synapse, Power BI. Your experience in handling big data sets and big data technologies will be an asset.
•    In-depth knowledge of the scripting languages Spark-SQL/ PySpark.
•    Work with source control technologies (such as GITHUB, Azure DevOps)
•    Can communicate skillfully with both technical developers, architects, and business stakeholders.
•    Experience in integrating with various data sources
•    Hands on knowledge working with ADLS Gen2
•    Experience working on Datawarehouse / Azure Synapse Analytic

 

NOTE: Following skills are must have  

•    Knowledge of scripting in Azure Databricks using PySpark / Spark-SQL 
•    Core Azure Databricks concepts – Performance optimization, KeyVault integration, mounting, partitioning etc.

 

Preferred  Skills

•    Previously created or enhanced CI/CD build and releases pipelines. 
•    Experience in working with scripting languages such as YAML, PowerShell, Terraform etc.

 

For Senior Consultants (All above consultant level skills plus following)

•    Highly experienced in building and optimizing complex queries and ETL jobs
•    Good with manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large and disconnected datasets
•    Thorough understanding of Data modelling concepts and Data warehouse design
•    Experience in building CI/CD pipelines
