As part of the digitalization initiative of Carl Zeiss Vision, be the lead system architect of a digital cloud-based platform with different digital products shaping the digital future of the eyewear industry. In alignment with a global development team, you will be responsible for defining, aligning and communicating the architecture of an agile release train to ensure business purpose fit.

 

In this role, your main tasks include:

  • You define the overall solution architecture, subsystems, digital products, and their interfaces, allocate responsibilities across subsystems and coordinate the solution deployment

  • You define non-functional requirements for the solution and ensure its implementation with the globally distributed development teams

  • You provide guidance and coaching to the development teams in the release train in terms of architecture and technology to ensure that developed solutions comply with the overall architecture and goals

  • You are responsible for defining and aligning the security concept of the solution, and for its compliance to the applicable laws in terms of data privacy, data security and cybersecurity

  • You are responsible for the documentation of the architecture of the solution. Also, you support the teams in the documentation of the architecture of the different digital products and subsystems

  • You participate in the development of future technical standards for the area of digital eyewear applications

  • You work closely together with Product Management and the Release Train Engineer to ensure success of the release train based on the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)

  • You are the interface with ZEISS’ IT departments to ensure smooth integration of developed solutions into the global ZEISS infrastructure

  • You take ownership of the end-to-end implementation of the platform while working with multiple members in a cross functional team

You have:

  • A diploma or master in informatics, computer science, applied computer science, software engineering or a comparable educational background

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in a similar position, where you gathered strong experience in designing and developing cloud-based applications in an agile environment

  • Experience in requirements engineering with user stories and epics

  • Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Azure ecosystem and an understanding of the limitations, pitfalls and benefits; AWS knowledge is a plus.

  • Strong communication skills capable to interact across hierarchy levels of an international organization

  • Fluent language skills in English – German is a plus
