Job Description
Role: Test Automation Engineer
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
Preparation and execution of automated test cases within project in compliance with the
test and method standards
Raising defects found during the testing and working with developers on their resolution
Maintaining the backlog of existing automated regression testing suites
Supporting manual test engineers in the development of their automated testing skills.
Support the creation of decision documents for corresponding committees, meetings
and decision-makers
Working with developers to ensure applications are testable within an automation
context.
Support the automation architect in the development and enhancement of automation
frameworks
Support the tracking of Test KPI and metrics in accordance with ETSM standards.
Key Competencies & Skills required
Best practice automation techniques
Best practice coding standards
Detailed knowledge of the testing lifecycle as well as the
different test types and their application
Service orientated mind-set
Knowledge of key metrics needed to monitor the test process
ISTQB or Equivalent Testing Accreditation
Able to work in diverse projects in a performance-oriented
culture
An energetic and goal-oriented style, combined with well–
developed interpersonal skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills as
demonstrated in general conversation and written
documents
Knowledge & Experience:
Extensive experience in best practice automated testing
frameworks, tools and practices.
Extensive experience debug scripting errors and trouble
shooting issues
Experience working in medium to large projects
Experience working in diverse testing teams
Experience following test strategies and plans
Experience working with teams in distributed locations
Experience with standard solution development lifecycles
(Requirements Engineering, Application Development and
Testing)
Experience with the defect management lifecycle
Experience in Agile Practices (Scrum, Kanban and Lean
methodologies)
