Role Description:

The I Trade Person is responsible for ensuring that imports and exports (Air/Sea/Road) are in line with all government pertinent regulations and are in line with the best practices. This requires developing, and maintaining, a mastery of the Customs and local regulatory agencies’ requirements focusing both internally and building external partnerships as well. The I-Trade Person must also be able to influence the business (Particularly the customs/government regulatory agencies, sending Plants/CMOs, Accounts Payable departments, Treasury department, RPM/FP SIP imports leaders, etc.) to ensure that Customs & regulatory due diligence is exercised in all its operations and that the proper pre/post importation and exportation documentation and process is maintained.

Role Responsibilities:

  • E2E I-trade operations: Is responsible for the end to end operations for international trade. This includes, but not limited to, owning of import/export database. Filing BOE’s & Shipping Bills with the right HS codes for CH products (FP/WIP/RM), in order to decide the duty rates and other underlying customs requirements. In Exports Preparing Post shipment documents. Ensuring Smooth customs clearance management for Import & Exports.
  • Cost savings initiative: Drive all cost savings initiative within I-trade operations across all lanes.
  • Regulatory permits: Accountable to ensure that all permits and licenses are up to date and valid for all import and export procedures.
  • Spot audits for import and exports: Perform, in line with the regional IMEA I-trade timetable, all spot audits related to imports and exports to drive a culture of compliance.
  • Customs broker governance: Must ensure that all brokers are working with valid contracts and all the brokers are provided with clear written operating procedures detailing specific requirements for all imports and export.
  • Archiving: Own the overall archiving process for CH. Perform annual audit on the archives to ensure that all imports and export clearing documents are archived as per country retention policy and are accessible on demand.
  • Ongoing monitoring of local import/export guideline/regulations: stay in touch with local regulations changes related to the country’s customs/import/export practice and regulations. This is to ensure that the business is operating day to day in compliance with the government’s import/export guidelines.
  • 3rd party and broker Invoice validation: validates all 3rd party invoice and ensures these are processed and paid according to the agreed contract with 3PL and brokers.
  • Customs issue resolution: Is responsible as a point of contact for all customs issue resolutions. The role is responsible to escalate to business leadership any customs matter that can lead to a notice of violation from government authorities or that can lead to operations/business disruption.
  • Demurrage & detention analysis is responsible for monthly D&D analysis spend for I-trade including preparation and submission of accruals related to the same.
  • Delivery scheduling with warehouse: responsible to delivery schedule with all warehouse/CMO/plant for delivery from port and export loading execution.
  • EDPMS/IDPMS alert closing with RBI: Develops and owns the process that ensures all EDPMS alerts are closed timely with the RBI.
  • Responsible for liaising with Government (DGFT & Custom Authorities) / Regulatory authorities for keeping compliance with statutory obligations & obtaining necessary sanctions / clearances
  • Should be effective communicator with good problem solving, analytical, negotiation and relationship management skills
  • Knowledge of Material Management Module in SAP

Qualifications

Should be effective communicator with good problem solving, analytical, negotiation and relationship management skills

Knowledge of Material Management Module in SAP

Graduate with a min of 4-5 years of relevant experience
