Role Responsibilities:

The AMA Data Solutions DevOps DATA ENGINEER is a technical role responsible for designing and building applications that ingests, cleanses and converts raw data into usable models for other business use case applications, business analysts and data science teams within the region of P&G APAC, Middle East and Africa markets. He/She is an expert in data engineering tools, data warehousing solutions, data modelling and processing frameworks. He/She will be a technical champion for data engineering and will also help building capability within the Data Engineering organization.

The Role Develops IT Solutions. Leverage Agile and DevOps practices to build their IT solutions. They understand the business value their IT Solutions deliver. They understand how to develop on multiple development platforms (i.e. MS Azure, AWS, Salesforce, Web). They work in small Development Teams owning the Sprint Backlogs. They continuously look for opportunities to create more efficient DevOps processes leveraging automation, new (ARB approved) tools, and exploring new development platforms together with DevOps Engineers. They work hand-in-hand with Operations Engineers to improve flow between Development and Operations to deliver value faster. 

Qualifications

Role Requirements

  • Graduate of Engineering or IT related course
  • At least 7 years of experience in Software Engineering or Data Engineering
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in building data models and solution design
  • Knowledge in DevOps Tools and CICD tools (e.g. Azure DevOps, Chef, Puppet, Github)
  • Knowledge in cloud technologies (Azure Cloud) – at least 2 years inclusive of software engineering experience
  • Knowledge in Agile or Scrum methodologies with proven track record of successful projects
  • Knowledge in scripting including Python, R or Scala
  • Backend Development experience on SQL Database, SQL Data Warehouse or any data warehousing solutions in cloud
