Job Purpose

The role of Resource – Apparel Design (Woven) will be part of the Global Commercial Organization, Apparels function. This role will be responsible for designing riding gear and lifestyle apparel and lead the execution, monitoring and supporting of design requirements for Apparel Business

 

Key Responsibilities

• You will be designing woven categories such as shirts, bottoms, jackets etc. and your main focus will be the Denim category for Apparel Business.
• You will support in designing riding gear and menswear apparel, as a process you will be required to create detailed technical sketches and make tech-packs as per business requirement.
• You will need to design a range of lifestyle apparel for men, based on product and business requirements every season. During this process you will be required to create sketches and plan ensembles, and present them to the design and product department for feedback and approvals.
• Leading extensive market, consumer and product research and creating apparel design concepts based on the product requirement brief given as part of the design process at the beginning of every season (two seasons in a year)
• Design a range of riding gear and apparel, based on product and business requirement every season. During this process you will be required to create sketches and plan ensembles, and present them to design and product department for feedback and approvals
• You will create detailed apparel tech-packs on Adobe Illustrator/ PLM Software
• Creating detailed sampling/production indents of the approved apparel range and working together with the sourcing department to make sure that the first salesman sample is the closest physical version of the approved design
• Frequent market and factory visits along with the sourcing department for better product and design development
• Work closely with the design, product and sourcing team to ensure a seamless work environment and better product output
• Good sensibility for application of graphic elements in garments and also the required skills to develop graphics for the same
• Ensure on time delivery of apparel design concepts, range design, sampling indents as per the season calendar
• Ensure quality of detailing and information put in sampling indents, which will help the sourcing department deliver an accurate interpretation of the design
• Ensure structured archiving and documentation of all stages of progress in the sampling process

Education

Bachelor’s degree (Full Time) – Fashion / Textile / Knitwear / Leather design

 

Experience

4-6 years experience

Hands on working experience on various design softwares such as Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, corel draw, Microsoft office etc.
