The Opportunity:

The L&D Manager in this role will be accountable & responsible for leading & managing the learning and development strategy and execution at OpenText. This includes onboarding programs, research-based leadership development programs, capability-building roadmaps, digital learning strategy, experiential learning, and pragmatic partnership with the HR Business Partner Organization. The professional acts as an internal consultant for senior leaders and managers and respond proactively to the unique needs of the geography. Must provide proactive L&D consulting services in relation to Competency Building, Talent Development, Employee Engagement and Leadership Development. The L&D Manager will work collaboratively with HR Business Partners to ensure timely delivery of learning solutions within the framework of the global L&D strategy.  Act as a consultant, adds value to discussions with business leaders, making compelling business cases for L&D initiatives and offers insights and analysis to the business to aid effective decision making. The professional will support learning programs' flawless development and execution.

•             Work closely with senior leadership to define and execute L&D strategies that enable accomplishment of business objectives. 

•             Drive a comprehensive learning strategy to enable cutting edge learning solution for employee development that will be connected to employee career paths.

•             Provide consultation and execution support for leadership development programs, organizational change initiatives, culture development, client impact and organizational effectiveness

•             Build research-based learning solutions; be responsible for team development, progression, and success by directing a clear understanding of our company’s value proposition for learning that is based on stakeholder needs, business environment, and talent strategy

•             Translate current and future L&D business needs into an overall integrated strategic L&D plan.

•             Research and learn new cutting-edge L&D practices through new and best practice L&D programs and techniques and maintain a professional network in the learning speciality. “

•             Ensure ongoing programmatic excellence and effective delivery of learning services through a focus on research and innovative training and development processes and curriculum

•             Applies strategic focus and spends >50% of the time on strategic areas such as leadership development, digital learning strategy, and research-based experiential learning.

•             Works closely with the global Learning team to share regional needs, understand the global framework and execute key L&D Programs and initiatives in the region.”

•             Build relationships with existing and new vendors, vetting the quality of vendors and instructors.

 

What it takes:

•             Graduation or a master’s degree / equivalent degree in a related discipline is preferred

•             8 + years of experience in a senior level role, building and executing the learning strategy and/or learning function within the organization

•             Passion for learning leadership development, diversity, and strong familiarity with the Asian and Pacific Islander community, its issues, needs, challenges and opportunities

•             Experience driving the development, delivery & implementation of innovative enterprise-wide learning & development initiatives

•             A passion for delivering great learning experiences for internal customers

•             Strong stakeholder credibility and network. To be influential in optimizing stakeholder collaboration. To have an ability to deliver powerful presentations that drive stakeholders to action and be thoughtful in overcoming objections and secure stakeholder agreement to L&D recommendations
