Job Purpose

To manage the IN (Data, Voice Charging) & VAS operations and rollout at circle level. This role includes engagement with Product factory, CPC, COG, SNOC, Planning, CXX and various inter-functional circle teams i.e. Marketing, CS, RA & Business, so as to deliver superior quality VAS services (Messaging, Roaming, Enabler platforms) at the circle.

 

*Network Element Types involved (as per deployment, circle specific).

IN: Ericsson Charging domains besides IN shall include ETopUp & RECC.

VAS Domain:  Messaging: SMSC, SMSR (P2P, A2P), Ent SMSC, SMS Firewall, SMS Gateway/Hub, BMG, LBS, MMSC, NTMS, USSD BE/Promo/CG, PCN, DND, WAP GW, VAS LAN

Roaming: RTSP, RQM, SRS/SPRS, WSMS, IR21 Portal, CRMS, SIMMUX, DSTK, SIGOS, GLR, VHE, WSMS, UCC, and International SCCP/DRA roaming BICS & TCL Management.

3rd Party Servers: CRBT, RRBT, Flash, Buddy finder, IBD/OBD, Voice Portals, Voice SMS/AVSMS, MCI, IVR, Other 3rd party servers.

Key Result

Areas/Accountabilities

  1. FIELD SUPPORT: Field support for issues resolution. Support to SNOC during incident resolution, upgrades and planned events. Report failures and drive to resolution. Service usage tracking, KPI analysis and improvement. Pro-active failure analysis. Offline backup support. MIS & Reporting. Support SNOC integration & Network Consolidation. Process adherence as directed by COG and SNOC. Support for internal & external audit activities.
  2. CUSTOMER SUPPORT: Enrich customer VAS services by meticulous Customer complaints (VAS & Roaming) analysis and resolution. Revenue share services issues resolution in coordination with marketing, IT, RA and SNOC. Roaming IR testing. Drive to maintain NIL revenue leakages in circle.
  3. PROJECT SUPPORT: Support new VAS services/Platform rollouts. VAS Infrastructure management and hygiene. Support field trials and POCs.
  4. DATABASE MANAGEMENT: Spare management & EOS/EOL management. Inventory management and quarterly sign off. VAS services reconciliation with RA & Marketing. AMC/MS BPA PR PO drive as per Corp. directives. Commercial co-ordination and closures at circle level.
  5. SECURITY MANAGEMENT: Support Nodal teams during TERM cell audits. Regulatory compiance adherence. Ensure MBSS security compliance of VAS nodes hosted in circle. LBS Accuracy test co-ordination.

 

The Key KPI indicators are as below:-

  1. Ensuring quick resolution of customer complaints
  2. Service uptime from filed perspective
  3. Capacity utilization below threshold
  4. Success rate in VAS platforms (platform specific)
  5. Backup / DR availability 

Core Competencies,

Knowledge, Experience

 

  1. Should have at least 10+ years of experience overall in telecom domain with IN & VAS service knowledge.
  2. Experience in managing IN & VAS platforms including roaming operations.
  3. Knowledge of TCP/IP, Diameter, CAMEL, MAP SS7, SCTP, M3UA, SIP, MAP, CIMD, SMPP protocols and signalling VAS service flows.
  4. Experience in IN & VAS Hardware management and Networking
  5. Excellent communication, inter-personal & managerial skills, strong customer focus & seamless approach.
  6. Timely decision making and risk assessment.

Must have technical / professional qualifications

 

Engineering Graduation in Electronics / Electronics with Communication / Computers Science
